Update: DeRosa University Center renovation project

Over the winter holiday, the University began the replacement of the DeRosa University Center floor. The new floor is designed to have a longer life span, is intended to be placed in high traffic areas such as the DeRosa Center, and is guaranteed to last for 10 years. For several months, a committee of students and staff have worked with an interior designer to select the type of flooring and color as part of a redesign of the dining areas within the facility. The project has been a collaborative effort by the staff in Housing, University Dining Services, Physical Plant, and Purchasing and is paid for from savings within the Housing and Dining budget and by Physical Plant.

Due to several issues with the delivery of the new flooring, Physical Plant was only able to complete the installation on the first floor. New product has been ordered but will not be delivered until after the start of the spring semester. Plans now call for the installation of the second floor during the University's Spring Break in March. 

The final phase of the project will be the installation of the new dining furniture in the Marketplace, The Lair, and the River Room which will be delivered the week following the 2015 Pharmacy commencement. These changes in both the floor and the furniture are aimed to create and foster a new look for the building and a better sense of community for our students, staff, and faculty. Until that time, please note that the University will continue to use the current dining furniture.
